TV: Episode 3 - Young Fogeys

Old is new again when it comes to tradition and formality.

I was recently invited to dinner at the home of a young couple. I know them as hip, modern professionals. I expected something chic and low maintenance, but what a surprise! Their home was beautiful in a traditional way, they had fine antiques, chintz, lots of layers…the table was even set with crystal and china and gleaming silver. It was not what I expected. I didn’t tell them this, but at the magazine we call these people “young fogeys” — young people who are looking for a more traditional lifestyle.
