HOUSE & HOME EPISODE GUIDE

I was at a dinner party the other night, sitting beside a world famous architect, who’s known for his dazzling open-concept spaces in New York City. This woman across from me started moaning about her renovation. She said her architect and her designer ruined her house by taking down walls.

They gave her a great room that isn’t so great as she has no privacy. She said, "You shouldn't try to live in open concept just because they tell you to."

It was embarrassing, but then everyone weighed in and there were a lot of opinions around the table. It made me think, it’s a really big trend to tear down your walls, it’s what everybody wants — or is it?

Believe me, we’ll have lots to say about whether the walls should come down.

Regards,
