I hate to say but the Sharon Mimran Living Room was destroyed.
1. without question the fireplace should have stayed as it was. It could have been a beautiful focal for the room.
2. The floors should have been refinished, not replaced.
3. While the window seat is great (especially with the logs) not hiding the minimal construction underneath only goes to cheapen the whole room.
4. The white looks horrible.
5. Just a question, but where is the furniture? Nobody, unless you lived in an apartment would put a couple of uncomfortable, blah chairs and cubes in a space like that.
When I saw the before pic, I was so excited to see the after...but all I an think about is how they managed to wreck such an eloquent space.
I would have just updated the carpet, and put a new cushion on the chair with a contrasting pillow that matched something put on the mantel beside the chair. Also, a large floor vase with some interesting vines coming up would look very nice.
I never would have painted the fireplace white.
Sorry.
