Photo Gallery: Great Paint Colours

Bright Persimmon Bedroom
Consider bold colours the next time you're decorating a bedroom.
Vintage furniture pieces can be instantly revitalized with some sanding and a few coats of paint. This secondhand dresser gets a new life and a contemporary look with eye-catching deep orange paint. Brightly patterned drapes from Urban Outfitters work well in the space.

Hello Farzana,
That photo of the neutral tufted sofa is from the Weekend Decorating feature in our May 2008 issue. The sofa is from Montauk, and they have locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal.
I hope that helps!
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Gwen McAuley (gmcauley at hhmedia.com)
neutral tufted. thanks
Hello Catherinef,
That dining room with the chandelier appeared in our May 2008 issue on p. 74. The dark wall colour isn't listed in our source guide, which means the homeowner never provided us with the details, or maybe they couldn't remember which colour they used. The home was designed by Toronto's Murakami Design, so you could always contact them to ask if they remember which colour was used in that dining room. Be sure to remind them it appeared in our May 2008 issue, and it's an English country-style home in North Toronto.
I hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello Farzana,
Which sofa are you referring to? The orange or the neutral tufted sofa? Let me know and I will track down the sourcing for you.

where can i find that sofa? love it:)
Love the wall colour. The only minor change that I'd make to the room is the drapery rod. It seems to punctuate rather than flow.
Hi,
Can you please tell me what colour the grey is in the dining room with the chandelier?
Thank you.
Hello Nancy,
I just phoned Sherwin-Williams in Toronto, and Silverado (SW1005) is still available ⎯ only the paint chip has been discontinued. If you visit your nearest Sherwin-Williams, they still have the formula for SW1005.
If you would prefer a Benjamin Moore colour, here are some options:
Deep Silver (2124-30), a bit darker than Silverado
Silver Spring (2120-50), a bit lighter than Silverado
Stone (2112-40), a warmer version of the steely blue-greys above
I hope that helps!
Hello Mary,
Yes, another H&H reader has asked us that, and although it's no longer on the Kohler website, you can try calling your local Kohler retailer to ask them about availability. Hopefully it's still available, or can be ordered from another retailer. Sorry we can't be more helpful.
The photo appeared in our June 2008 issue as the House & Home of the Month (p. 133).
Yes, Tami, the Silverado paint was used in the bedroom with the grey walls/white drapery/chandelier. Comments usually apply to the whole gallery, which is why they "follow" you from photo to photo.
Hello Debbie,
That photo of the grey bedroom appeared in our June 2008 issue in the City Living section. The wall colour is called Silverado (SW 1005) from Sherwin-Williams. Hope that helps!
